01

Using AskFendy

These Terms of Use apply to askfendy.io and the private beta at demo.askfendy.io, operated as AskFendy (“we”, “us”). By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Questions about these terms can be sent to rudi@cxbunnies.com.

02

Who can use the service

AskFendy is intended for adults, including parents, guardians and coaches who are authorised to manage the information they enter. It is not intended for children to create their own accounts. Do not use it if you cannot enter into a binding agreement under the law that applies to you.

The current beta is invitation-only. You are responsible for protecting your Google account, devices, browser profile and API keys. Do not share access in ways that expose another person’s information or allow unauthorised use.

03

Planning and competition information

AskFendy helps organise competition dates, deadlines, school calendars, results and related decisions. It is a planning aid. We are not an event organiser, governing body, school, travel agent or registration service.

Check dates, eligibility, deadlines, entry requirements, travel arrangements and fees directly with the relevant official sources before acting. Information can be incomplete, outdated or entered incorrectly. An “entered” status or checklist item in AskFendy does not register a fencer for an event or make a booking.

Sample and researched starting data are provided for demonstration and planning. School-day calculations, development metrics and suggestions are estimates based on the information available in the workspace.

04

AI-assisted imports

AI features are optional. When you configure a provider and import a document, AskFendy asks the selected model to suggest new competitions or updates to existing ones. Generated proposals remain subject to your review and approval.

AI can misunderstand source documents, omit details or produce incorrect results. Verify each proposed change and its evidence before accepting it. A confidence label is not a guarantee of accuracy. You are responsible for decisions, registrations and other actions you take using the output.

You must have permission to submit any document, screenshot or personal information to the provider. Text-based PDFs and Markdown are supported for document analysis; image-only scanned PDFs require text extraction or OCR first. A selected model may not support every input type, especially screenshots.

05

Provider accounts and costs

You supply your own OpenRouter or Ollama Cloud API key and choose the model. You are responsible for your provider account, applicable provider terms, usage limits and any fees the provider charges. Model availability and pricing may change.

Saving a key or selecting a model does not include a subscription or credits. AskFendy does not sell you an AI subscription through the current Settings page. Requests can incur provider charges even when the result is not useful or you choose not to accept a proposal.

Do not use keys that you are not authorised to use. Revoke a key with its provider if it may have been exposed. Clearing a key in AskFendy removes the browser’s saved copy after you save; it does not revoke the key at the provider.

06

Your content and responsibilities

You retain your rights in the documents and information you provide. You grant AskFendy the limited permission needed to process that content for the features you choose, including forwarding it to your selected AI provider when you request analysis.

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality and permissions associated with your content, including information about children, other competitors and schools. Share only information that is necessary for your purpose.

Do not use the service to break the law, infringe rights, upload malicious code, disrupt or overload infrastructure, bypass access controls, scrape private information, or expose someone else’s confidential information.

07

Local storage and backups

The current workspace stores planning information in your browser. It is not automatically synchronised between devices or backed up to an AskFendy account database. Export your plans if you need a backup.

Clearing browser storage, changing devices or using browser privacy settings may remove saved plans and keys. Signing out does not necessarily remove local storage. Keep exports and shared-device use under your control.

08

Beta availability and changes

The service is in development. Features, integrations, limits and access arrangements may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. We may restrict or suspend access where needed for security, maintenance, misuse or legal obligations.

We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device or model, or that every error will be corrected. If we introduce paid AskFendy features, their price and applicable terms will be presented before a purchase is required.

09

AskFendy and third-party materials

AskFendy’s branding, interface and software are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms permit you to use the service for its intended purpose; they do not transfer ownership of the service.

Event names, third-party content, external websites and provider services belong to their respective owners. Links or imported references do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

10

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the beta service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without guarantees of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, AskFendy is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, missed registrations, travel costs, lost opportunities or loss of locally stored information arising from reliance on the service or third-party content.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, or takes away mandatory consumer rights. The law and rights that apply to you continue to apply.

11

Ending use and resolving concerns

You can stop using AskFendy at any time. Export anything you need, clear local site data and saved keys, and revoke provider keys or Google access if appropriate. Contact us if you want your beta access removed.

If you have a concern, contact rudi@cxbunnies.com so we can try to resolve it. These terms do not require mandatory arbitration or waive rights you have under applicable law.

12

Updates to these terms

We may revise these terms as the service changes. The updated date is shown on this page. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes. If you do not agree with revised terms, stop using the service.
